On s\u2019y retrouve autour de tableaux, de courbes et de rapports. On commente des indicateurs, on \u00e9change des hypoth\u00e8ses, on construit des plans d\u2019action\u2026 sans toujours savoir si ce que l\u2019on regarde est vraiment ce qui se passe. <\/p>\n\n<p>Et c\u2019est bien l\u00e0 le c\u0153ur du sujet. <\/p>\n\n<p>Pour Masaaki Imai, fondateur du Kaizen Institute et auteur du livre Gemba Kaizen, <strong>l\u2019am\u00e9lioration ne peut venir que de la r\u00e9alit\u00e9<\/strong>, et cette r\u00e9alit\u00e9 ne s\u2019observe pas depuis un bureau. Dans le monde de l\u2019industrie, il d\u00e9signe le terrain : un atelier, une ligne de production, un point de service client, un entrep\u00f4t, un h\u00f4pital\u2026 <\/p>\n\n<p>C\u2019est l\u2019endroit o\u00f9 les produits sont fabriqu\u00e9s, les services d\u00e9livr\u00e9s, les probl\u00e8mes rencontr\u00e9s. <\/p>\n\n<p>Dans son livre, Imai insiste : le Gemba est un miroir. Il refl\u00e8te les capacit\u00e9s r\u00e9elles de l\u2019entreprise, ses forces comme ses failles. Ce qui s\u2019y d\u00e9roule est l\u2019expression directe du syst\u00e8me de management, des processus en place, des choix d\u2019organisation, mais aussi des silences et des angles morts.<\/p>  \n\n<p>Citation de Masaaki Imai:  <em>\u00ab Les probl\u00e8mes rencontr\u00e9s au Gemba sont souvent le r\u00e9sultat d\u2019un soutien insuffisant des fonctions support. \u00bb<\/em> <\/p>\n \n\n<p>Autrement dit : ce qui ne fonctionne pas sur le terrain est rarement la faute des op\u00e9rateurs. C\u2019est <strong>remettre en question ce que l\u2019on pense savoir<\/strong>, non pas en paroles, mais par l\u2019observation directe. <\/p>\n\n<p>Imai raconte une anecdote : il attend un fax dans un h\u00f4tel. \u00c0 la r\u00e9ception, on lui dit qu\u2019il n\u2019y a rien. Au lieu de s\u2019en tenir \u00e0 cette version, il demande \u00e0 voir. Et d\u00e9couvre qu\u2019aucune proc\u00e9dure n\u2019est en place, que chacun \u00e0 la r\u00e9ception a sa m\u00e9thode. R\u00e9sultat : le fax est arriv\u00e9, mais personne ne l\u2019a vu. <\/p>\n\n<p>Ce n\u2019est qu\u2019un exemple parmi d\u2019autres. Mais il dit tout : si vous ne regardez pas, vous ne comprenez pas. <\/p>\n\n<p>Et c\u2019est ce que les meilleurs managers font. Ils ne cherchent pas \u00e0 contr\u00f4ler les gens, mais \u00e0 comprendre les syst\u00e8mes.
