PICK matrix

What is a PICK matrix?

A PICK matrix (Possible, Implement, Challenge, Kill) is a visual tool used in production, logistics, quality and similar management processes. The PICK matrix is often visually represented as a table with 4 categories related to each letter of the acronym:

● “Possible” items have the potential to improve the process or end result.
● “Implement” items have been decided to be implemented.
● “Challenge” items require careful consideration before deciding whether or not to implement.
● “Kill” items have been deemed unnecessary or ineffective and should be removed from the process.

Each item is placed along the following 2 axes:
● A horizontal axis defines the level of difficulty to achieve
● A vertical axis defines the benefit

The PICK matrix is a simple but effective visual tool for organizing and prioritizing tasks and items to be managed within a production or management process. It allows you to prioritize tasks and quickly identify the items that have the greatest potential for improvement.
