Thales optimizes multi-site collaboration with iObeya

Article Sumary

Hey, let’s start your
iObeya journey!

Multi-site teams struggled to collaborate

Thales Alenia Space, the aerospace division of Thales, was facing management challenges linked to the need for cross-collaboration among teams across different work sites, including Cannes, Aix en Provence and Toulouse. Teams struggled to use Obeyas, due to the scattering of teams across office locations. Team coordination around each project using Visual Management, is difficult for teams across Europe and France. Additionally, data confidentiality constraints are not addressed with a physical solution as it does not allow for access restriction to sensitive information.

Therefore, Thales Alenia Space was looking for a solution to simplify the management of multi-site teams and improve information security, while optimizing their office space.

Thales x iObeya: implementing digital Visual Management

Faced with these challenges, Thales Alenia Space naturally turned to iObeya, the digital Visual Management platform. iObeya was able to meet Thales’ specific needs in the following ways:
iObeya has enabled Thales Alenia Space to work efficiently on multi-site projects not only within their own France and Europe offices, but also with different partners and customers. The iObeya platform has facilitated collaboration between geographically dispersed teams, increasing efficiency and coordination.
Privacy issues have been resolved by using iObeya. The platform offers features to restrict access to sensitive information, thereby ensuring data security and compliance with privacy rules at Thales Alenia Space.
By moving from a physical Obeya to iObeya, Thales Alenia Space was able to optimize the use of physical space in its global office locations. This transition to a digital platform has freed up valuable conference rooms and other office space, previously occupied by physical Obeyas, while providing better organization and clear visualization of projects with Digital Visual Management.
In addition to the main benefits mentioned above, Thales Alenia Space has also benefited from iObeya’s advanced functionalities. New features such as map functions were particularly appreciated by the teams, as they facilitated the management and visualization of the most important information. Furthermore, the connectors, particularly the JIRA connector, have enabled the company to evolve towards a more user-friendly management system.

We are making increasing use of JIRA-type connectors, which enable us and our teams to evolve towards even more effective Visual Management within the company

Pierre-Guy MICHEL, Lean Manager for the Observation & Sciences domain at Thales Alenia Space
Thanks to iObeya, Thales Alenia Space has been able to overcome obstacles linked to multi-site management, data confidentiality and space optimization. The transition to a digital platform has enabled better project coordination and smoother collaboration between remote teams, while ensuring the security of sensitive information. With the implementation of iObeya, Thales Alenia Space’s teams can now easily align themselves despite the distance between different offices.
Thales desired a digital solution to align teams, protect sensitive information and enable multi-site collaboration to better serve their global customers.
